The last time I sailed to Castaway Cay was with my family 25 years ago. My dad was there.

When we docked there during our sailing on the Disney Destiny in January he wasn’t.

I didn’t wake up that day thinking I would be sad. Really I hadn’t even thought about it until I stepped out onto the deck.

But that’s the funny thing about grief - it shows up when you least expect it.

I cried.
I held onto memories.
I was angry.
I was joyful.
I missed him.
I wished he was here.
I was so immensely grateful.

My team held me. Poured into me. And I got a moment to just be. With him. Near him. That sunrise. It was him.

Our song if we had the chance for a first dance at my wedding would have been “Here Comes The Sun” by The Beatles. And this in this moment it just all felt right.

Travel creates the most powerful memories, and it’s so important to me that I create them not only for my kids, but for me too. Remember that the next time you think it’s “just a trip” because it could end up being so much more. It could end up being that one feeling you’ll need and never ever let go of. Especially when you need it most.

One thing is for sure…

I will NEVER go to @disneylandparis without purchasing Premier Access Ultimate for one full day of our stay.

We did 17 RIDES in 2 PARKS without waiting in a single line. Sometimes twice for Charlotte with rider swap! If rides are a must for you, this is a non-negotiable.

On top of that, the reserved seating for the fireworks show is worth every penny of the €20 per person we paid. FRONT ROW and we showed up 15 minutes before hand 🤯

With World of Frozen opening later this spring, if Disneyland Paris isn’t on your list yet it totally should be. Let someone who has been there (more than once), planned it (for myself and my clients) and experienced it first hand help you experience the MAGIC!

Better yet, pair it with a longer trip to Paris and it’s chef’s kiss 😚

Ok Marvel fans, this hotel @disneylandparis is for you!

We stayed at Hotel New York - The Art of Marvel for this trip and it was perfect for my super hero loving son (and TBH more so my husband 😂)

Staying Deluxe at Disneyland Paris means closer to the action, a quick walk to the front gates, and some of the best theming and accommodations on property.
